Dr. Shiza Sarfraz is a full-scope Optometrist who offers comprehensive eye exams with an emphasis on ocular disease. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, Dr. Sarfraz earned her doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and graduated with clinical honors. During her time at PCO, Dr. Sarfraz was an active member of The Lions Club and held the position of Vice President of her school’s NOSA chapter. Through her involvement, she participated in low income school vision screenings in Philadelphia and organized fundraisers to raise awareness for the importance of ocular health. Always eager to help others, Dr. Sarfraz worked as a clinical skills and optics teaching assistant during her time in school and provided tutoring for underclassmen.
Dr. Sarfraz’s clinical experience consisted of rotating through various different locations including The Eye Institute in Philadelphia and Burlington County Eye Physicians in New Jersey. Her extensive training included primary eye care for adults and adolescents, pre- and post-operative care for refractive surgery, contact lens fittings, pre- and post- operative care for cataract surgery, and the co-management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and several other ocular conditions. Dr. Sarfraz has traveled across the nation to complete her training at leading facilities with the latest technology. Her time at Fisher Eye Associates in Oviedo, Florida was spent fitting patients with a multitude of different contact lens modalities, including multifocal and toric soft contacts, as well as co-managing patients undergoing Ortho-K treatment for myopia control. Dr. Sarfraz completed her ocular disease rotation at the prestigious W.G. Bill Hefner Veterans Affair Hospital in Salisbury, NC where she primarily co-managed the care of patients with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and ocular manifestations from systemic diseases (i.e. diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy). Her patient care philosophy centers around the significance of providing exceptional care and patient education.
Dr. Sarfraz is an active member of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Sarfraz is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and speaks conversational Punjabi. She enjoys reading, baking and spending time with her family.
